Domestic garden shredders maximum shredding diameter is based on shredding green waste and not hard branches. Please note that brown waste (branches /twigs) reduce the maximum diameter the shredder is capable of. As a rule half the size of the maximum diameter for a guide to maximum brown waste (branches /twigs) the shredder will be capable of. Also note that shredder performance if affected by how much moisture is in waste being shredded. You must not attempt to shred wet waste in electric shredders
